Job description - MRO Engineer
We are looking for a proactive engineer to lead improvements in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) processes for engines. This crucial role focuses on enhancing MRO procedures, especially in component inspection and repair, optimising workscopes, and reducing technical variances.
As a MRO Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Create and maintain the Technical Package to ensure the use of modern, efficient, flexible, and cost-effective methods.
- Establish and enforce technical standards for component repair processes, ensuring compliance throughout the repair network.
- Ensure Maintenance, Operational, and Overhaul Technical data meet regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements.
- Analyse service deterioration and use insights from maintenance facilities to support product maturity strategies and life-cycle cost savings.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, MRO Bases, Service Operations, Design, and other stakeholders to provide ongoing support and identify operational improvements.
- Ensure technical solutions meet specified requirements, including restoring serviceable components to operational condition.
- Assist in setting up and accrediting new repair and overhaul facilities, identifying and addressing gaps in repair technology.
What we require from the MRO Engineer:
- A relevant technical degree or equivalent industrial experience.
- Significant experience in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aerospace engines.
- Hands-on experience with engine diagnostics, component repair, reassembly, and testing.
- Ability to quickly and effectively solve technical problems.
- Proficiency in manufacturing engineering and specialised processes.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and apply practical manufacturing strategies.
